Frequently Asked Questions

We will review together regularly and agree a pace that best supports you and your goals.
-
There is no fixed number of sessions. Some people choose to work for a shorter or fixed period, while others value longer term support.
We will review our work together regularly to ensure counselling continues to meet your needs.

Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of counselling.
There are a small number of circumstances where I may have a legal or ethical duty to share information, for example where there is a serious risk of harm or where disclosure is required by law. Wherever possible, I will discuss this with you first.
As part of good professional practice, I also discuss my work anonymously with an accredited supervisor.

Payment is requested in advance of each appointment and should be received at least 48 hours before your scheduled session. Payment can be made by bank transfer. My bank details will be provided when your appointment is confirmed.
-
If you need to cancel or rearrange a session, please let me know as soon as possible.
More than 48 hours' notice – no charge.
24–48 hours' notice – £10 for a 60-minute session (£20 for sessions over an hour).
Less than 24 hours' notice – the full fee is payable.
If only one partner attends a scheduled couples session, the appointment will normally be regarded as cancelled unless we have agreed an alternative arrangement in advance.

Somtimes if appropriate. Alongside face-to-face counselling in Marlborough and Swindon, I also offer sessions online where appropriate.
If we work online, I ask that you join from a private, quiet space where you can speak openly without interruption.
-
Relationship counselling works best when everyone involved attends together. Sometimes, I may suggest an individual session for each person, if I believe it would benefit the therapeutic process. This would only take place with the knowledge and agreement of everyone involved.
